BINATIONAL CULTURAL DIALOGUE

The Haiti Jazz Foundation and the Caracoli association joined forces in 2021 to respond to the European Union’s call for proposals for a project that sought to strengthen bi-national collaboration between Haiti and the Dominican Republic in the field of culture and the press, by facilitating mutual understanding between players in the two countries.

The “Binational Cultural Dialogue” was based on the articulation of exchanges, professional meetings, and communication actions. The aim was to create a Haitian-Dominican cultural season in the form of multidisciplinary cultural and artistic exchanges, within the framework of major cultural events in both countries. Throughout the project period, cultural exchanges took place in the 6 areas, sometimes including several activities as well as professional meetings, scheduled according to the established calendar in various fields: Carnival and Traditions, Gastronomy, Jazz, World Music, Rara-Gagá, Street Art. 3 press forums were also held, and 32 audiovisual products (17 videos – documentaries, mini-documentaries, promo clips – and 15 photographic series) were produced, while the project’s website and social networks (Facebook and Instagram) were regularly updated.
