With funding from the ARCADES program (European Union) and partnerships from the Françoise Canez Auguste Foundation, CIDIHCA and Ayiti Mizik, the Haiti Jazz Foundation has published “Grandes Dames de la Musique Haïtienne” an exceptional document that contributes to the musical memory of Haiti.

This coffee table book is a work which puts in the spotlight for the first time: 45 inescapable ladies that have greatly impacted Haiti’s music industry. The author, Ralph Boncy, presents in these 144 pages, which include rare photos and archive documents, a book in which readers get on an exceptional journey that transports them from the first woman to have marked Haitian music to the current hopes. An iconic tribute that tells us a little more about Haiti’s culture.
