METROJAZZ WEEKLY RADIO SHOW BROADCASTED IN HAITI & ONLINE

Since 2007, the Haiti Jazz Foundation carries out the Port-au-Prince International Jazz Festival (PAPJAZZ) and other related activities in an objective to promote Jazz music especially Creole Jazz which tends to emancipate itself year after year on the national scene and internationally.

In order to gain a better exposure and popularize this musical style, we created METROJAZZ, a radio show. The main objective of this project is to broaden the audience by keeping a more constant dissemination of Jazz news and educate the younger crowd throughout the year which will undoubtedly strengthen the promotion of Jazz music as well as promoting Haitian and foreign artists who will be programmed in the next festival editions.

The one-hour French and Creole radio show is broadcasted on Radio Metropole (100.1), twice a week and is hosted by music journalist / author composer, Montreal based, Ralph Boncy (Radio Canada, Musique Plus, etc.). Its content includes today’s jazz and jazz news in the World along with news of the “Creole jazz” scene through interviews and local or visiting artists in Haiti.
